Staff in the cemetery

LT

LT served in the Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC) as a nurse during the First World War. He was stationed at Queen Mary's Military Hospital, which later became Calderstones Hospital, throughout the war. He was awarded the 1914 Star, British War Medal And Victory Medal.

When the war ended, he decided to continue working at Calderstones until he retired. Even in retirement, he maintained his connection to the hospital by living in a flat on the premises. After he passed away, he was buried in the hospital cemetery, demonstrating his lifelong commitment to Calderstones.

SC

SC was a nurse tutor who worked at Calderstones Hospital. After his passing, his ashes were interred somewhere in the hospital's cemetery, the location of which is unknown. Just like LT and many others, SC was one of the many staff members who dedicated their lives to caring for the residents of Calderstones Hospital.

May they all rest in peace within the cemetery.
